The Tangipahoa Registrar of Voters, and all registrars across the state, have begun the annual canvas to help verify addresses for registered voters. 

Each year we receive a report from the National Change of Address (NCOA) through the USPS.  We are tasked with verifying any address discrepancies to ensure the voter rolls are always as current as possible.  Please be on the lookout for a Voter ID/Canvas or an Address Confirmation Card. 

A Voter ID card indicates a change was made by NCOA.  An ACC or Address Confirmation Card indicates that NCOA has noticed a change but it requires verification.  Should you receive an ACC in the mail, please complete, sign and return it as quickly as possible to ensure we have your corrected information on file.

The Registrar of Voter’s has completed in person early voting for the April 24 election.  It was a steady stream of voters all week and the mail ballots are continually rolling in.  The deadline to return your mail ballot to our offices is 4:30 PM on Friday, 04/23/2021 by 4:30 PM.

Tangipahoa has received

• 1751 mail ballots returned so far and
• 2547 in-person early voters

For a total of 4345 voters for this April election. 

38% of mail ballots that were sent have been returned and a little over 5% of our total registered voters have turned out so far.

While there are only 2 items on the ballot, the turnout has been steady for this early voting cycle.  The Educational Facilities Improvement District Proposition (parish-wide) and the Hammond Downtown Development District Proposition (Millage Renewal) have brought out a steady run of voters. 

As of 04/13/2021, Tangipahoa has receive:

• 1207 mail ballots
• 983 in-person early voters

For a total of 1822 voters so far for this April election. 

26% of mail ballots that were sent have been returned (the deadline to return your mail ballot is 4:30 PM on Friday, 04/23/2021) and a little over 2% of our total registered voters have turned out so far.

Voters are encouraged to visit our website, www.TangiVotes.com , to locate parish early voting locations, Election Day voting site, or view their sample ballot.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, our offices will be sanitizing designated areas and wiping down voting machines between each voter. Hand sanitizer will be provided to voters and masks are recommended, although not required.

In addition to a Louisiana driver’s license, a Louisiana Special ID or a generally recognized ID with picture and signature, voters may use a digital license via LA Wallet.
