Rescheduled Fall 2021 elections

Amite, La.— Tangipahoa Registrar of Voters Andi Matheu is currently processing the mail ballots that will be mailed out for the November 13, 2021 election (previously scheduled for October 9).

“We plan to have the November ballots in the mail no later than October 8, 2021,” Registrar Matheu said, “Please be on the lookout and return your voted ballot as soon as possible to avoid any delay in processing.  Also, be aware the date on the mail ballot will still reflect the October election date.  Because there was no change on what is being voted on, there was no reason to have the ballots reprinted”.

SECRETARY OF STATE ARDOIN ANNOUNCES RESCHEDULING OF FALL 2021 ELECTIONS

Baton Rouge, LA – Today, Louisiana Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin announced that Governor John Bel Edwards has agreed with his recommendation to reschedule the fall 2021 elections in light of the devastation brought on by Hurricane Ida. “I am thankful that the Governor has recognized the importance of our recommendation to move the October 9 election to November 13 and the November 13 election to December 11,” Secretary Ardoin said. “This will allow our staff and local partners more time to properly prepare for a statewide election while ensuring the integrity of our election processes and that our voters’ traditional voting habits are as undisturbed as possible.” Further announcements including an emergency certification and election-related deadlines are forthcoming.

The Tangipahoa Registrar of Voters office will remain closed through the Labor Day holiday, Monday 9/6. We plan to return Tuesday, 9/7 if the power is restored to the courthouse.

If you are displaced and will remain so through the October 9 election, please consider applying for a mail ballot and let us help take something off your plate. You may do so by visiting our website https://tangivotes.com/i-would-like-to/vote-by-mail
