Amite, La.— Andi Matheu and the Tangipahoa Parish Registrar of Voters Office completed the annual canvass and the application of both the Congressional and Amite Municipal redistricting changes.
If a registered voter had a change due to redistricting, they will receive a new voter information card. This card is simply to inform you of what specifically changed. These cards will have the note, “Changed by Reapportionment” on the bottom. There were 225 voters with a municipal change and over 13,000 with a congressional district change.
*IMPORTANT ~ due to redistricting and the annual canvass voters may receive several voter information cards. The voter id card with the most current issue date is the only one that will be accurate.
The Registrar’s Office is finished with our annual canvass when we verify voter addresses based on reports received from NCOA. Over 1,500 voters may also receive an address confirmation notice. A response to the address confirmation notice is required by law.
Thank you for helping us keep our voter rolls clean and updated to ensure fair and accurate elections.
