BATON ROUGE, La. — Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin is reminding voters that early voting for the April 30 Municipal General Election begins Saturday, April 16, and continues through Saturday, April 23 (excluding Sunday, April 17) from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Citizens who want to vote early may do so in person at their parish Registrar of Voters Office or at other designated locations.

Voters are encouraged to utilize Louisiana’s award-winning, free smartphone app, GeauxVote Mobile, to locate parish early voting locations, Election Day voting site, or view their sample ballot. GeauxBot, the virtual voter assistant, is also available to access pertinent election information such as registration deadlines, election dates, polling locations, and hours. GeauxBot is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by visiting voterportal.sos.la.gov or by selecting Elections and Voting on sos.la.gov.

In addition to a Louisiana driver’s license, a Louisiana Special ID, or a generally recognized ID with a picture and signature, voters may use a digital license via LA Wallet.

BATON ROUGE, La. — Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin is reminding Louisianians that the deadlines to register to vote in the April 30 Municipal General Election are fast approaching. The in-person or by mail registration deadline is Wednesday, March 30, and the deadline for registering through the GeauxVote Online Registration System is Saturday, April 9. These deadlines are for citizens who have never registered to vote as well as voters who would like to make changes to their registration.

Citizens may check their registration or register to vote online at www.GeauxVote.com; at their parish’s Registrar of Voters Office; while obtaining services at the Office of Motor Vehicles, public assistance agencies, public schools, colleges and libraries; or by mail. Louisianians can also utilize the GeauxVote Mobile smartphone app to access registration, ballot and polling place information.

After registering, voters should download the GeauxVote Mobile smartphone app. The app provides registration information as well as voting districts, sample ballots, polling place information and election results.

When is the last time you verified your voter registration information?  If you have moved since then, your information needs to be updated in order for you to remain an active voter.   Please visit GeauxVote.com or use the GeauxVote app to update your information. 

We’d hate for you to show up to exercise your right to vote only to find out that you are no longer eligible due to missed confirmations of your residence or incorrect information on your Voter Registration Card. 
 The deadline to register online for the April 30th election is April 9, 2022.

BATON ROUGE, La. — Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin is reminding everyone that Saturday, March 26, 2022, is Election Day for the Municipal Primary Election.

In preparation for the election, Secretary Ardoin encourages voters to remember:

  • Voted absentee ballots must be returned to the parish registrar of voters office by Friday, March at 4:30 p.m.
  • Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. on Election Day. Anyone in line at 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
  • Voters can find their polling location and sample ballot by downloading the GeauxVote Mobile app for smartphones or by visiting www.GeauxVote.com.
  • Voters may also utilize the virtual voter assistant, GeauxBot, to access pertinent election information. GeauxBot is accessible by visiting voterportal.sos.la.gov or by selecting Elections and Voting on sos.la.gov.
  • Voters can sign up for text alerts via GeauxVote Mobile.
  • Voters should bring an ID with them to vote (Louisiana driver’s license, Louisiana Special ID card, a generally recognized picture identification card with name and signature such as a passport or a digital license via LA Wallet). Voters without an ID will be required to fill out an affidavit but will be allowed to vote.
  • Election results can be viewed in real-time via GeauxVote Mobile or at www.sos.la.gov.
